Although most people are sure to assume that the most common human disorder is the common flu or cold, the truth is that tooth decay is far more common today than we may realize. It has been believed in the past that the condition of tooth decay is a natural condition that cannot be avoided, however tooth decay is the result of a bacteria disease and is far from a natural process. As the tooth decay begins to escalate these bacteria can easily enter the blood stream and create other conditions and health problems throughout the body before you realize what the source of the problem is.

Let’s go through how the process of tooth decay works. The bacteria in your mouth are combined with the food debris you eat throughout the day and mucus. This combination creates a sticky residue known as plaque. The plaque sticks to the surface of the teeth and feeds on the sugars that we ingest in a day while also producing an acid that takes away calcium and phosphate from your teeth. The longer this plaque is left to take these important nutrients from your teeth they will in turn begin to erode starting with the first enamel, which is the outside of the tooth and working inwards towards the body of the tooth.

Poor nutrition and oral hygiene habits are of course the main causes of tooth decay today. People who tend to eat stickier foods and foods that are high in refined carbohydrates are far more likely to be at a higher risk for tooth decay than someone who eats healthier foods. Even when you snack during the day it is important to do what you can to brush after each snack and meal to prevent plaque from building on your teeth. The number one problem with tooth decay is that it generally presents no real symptoms or warning signs until it is already too far advanced for elimination. Some of the symptoms you may feel can be similar to a toothache, your teeth may become sensitive to hot and cold temperatures and of course eating anything with sugar in it can only aggravate your tooth even more.

Let’s go through the natural supplementation processes and alternative healing methods that can help you avoid the pain of tooth decay.

  • Calcium and Magnesium should be taken together and are important for strong and healthy teeth.
  • Grape Seed Extract is a natural supplement, which is used because of its powerful antioxidant properties and should be taken as directed.
  • Vitamin A is essential when it comes to healing your teeth and maintaining proper growth function. This vitamin can be taken in dosages of 10,000 IU daily.
  • Vitamin B Complex is used to help promote healthy gums and nerves and this is important to combat the onset of tooth decay.
  • 1 or 2 drops of clove oil is good if you have a toothache. You can dilute the clove oil with olive oil if you find it to be too strong.
  • The herb thyme is good because it reduces the amount of bacteria in the mouth. It is a natural antiseptic.
  • It is recommended to avoid carbonated soft drinks because they deteriorate the calcium from the tooth enamel.
This is only a short example of the different natural supplements and healing avenues you can take in order to avoid tooth decay in your life and understand how it appears to begin with.
