colon-polyp

Polyps are a benign growths that can progress to various sizes and can be found on growing from the epithelial lining of the large intestine, bladder, gallbladder, cervix as well as other important internal organs. Polyps are by far most common in the rectum and sigmoid colon and generally occur in groups of more than one. Most of the polyps that can be found in the colon region produce no problems or symptoms and are generally only found through routine physicals and procedures and require no sense of action to eliminate them. However, if the polyps grow to a large size this can cause rectal bleeding or abdominal pain.

For many people when they hear the term polyp it is immediately associated with cancer and you are not alone. There is a great deal of controversy over this and some physicians do believe that colon cancer can be the result of a once benign polyp where others disagree. The majority of polyps never turn into cancer. Research is still in progress and no one can be sure if polyps promote or are associated with cancerous growths as of yet. Familial polyposis is a hereditary disease where hundreds of polyps can grow within the colon; even when removed these polyps will return. This condition is more closely linked to cancer than any other form of polyp today. Some of the symptoms that characterize this condition include rectal bleeding, abdominal pain as well as mucus drainage.

Cervix polyps are very common in women today and symptoms of this form of polyp include watery and heavy bloody discharge from the vagina and bleeding between periods or after intercourse. This form of polyp is more common in women who have not had children or have diabetes. The good news about these polyps is that once removed they never come back. No matter what type of polyp you are dealing with, there are natural remedies and supplementation that you can take part in to help reduce the symptoms and naturally eliminate the polyp before serious complications can arise.

  • Calcium protects against polyps in the colon area and colon cancer. This mineral can be taken in dosages of 1,000-1,500 mg daily for best results. Magnesium should always be taken with calcium to help with absorption.
  • Vitamin C can reduce the number of polyps and even eliminate them when taken in dosages of 5,000-10,000 mg per day.
  • Vitamin A with carotenoids aids in protection of the membranous lining. 25,000 IU per day is recommended. Reduce to 10,000 IU per day if you're pregnant.
  • Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that can help protect your body against the onset of polyps.
  • Garlic increases immunity and is a natural antibiotic. Kyolic from Wakunaga of America is a high quality garlic supplement.
  • Aloe Vera juice can help clean the digestive tract and improve digestion.
  • Eliminate consumption of processed foods, animal fats and caffeine.
  • Consume high quality fiber foods such as oatmeal, broccoli, sweet potatoes, onions and peppers.

This is just a small taste of the different natural supplement and remedies you can choose from to help keep your body free of polyps that could harm you.
